My first meme thingy - sorry if I cock it up!

I think how it works is you get a letter and then you pick 5 songs from your iTunes (or whatever you use) that begin with that letter and you particularly like or have some special meaning to you.

If you want to have a go too just ask me for a letter :) Thanks to adi_dion for my letter which was "s"

Meme Stuff

Starlight - Muse

I fell completely in love with Muse last year and this was the song that did it :) I had the pleasure of seeing them live in London last November and I'm going to see them again at Wembley Stadium (as seen in this video) this September. This guy's voice is just awesome and they totally rock! They write lyrics about stars and space and stuff too, lol. (I would have included Supermassive Blackhole in this meme too, but I don't want flood it with Muse!)
My life
You electrify my life
Let's conspire to re-ignite
All the souls that would die just to feel alive

Sometimes - James

Ah, the 90s, back when I was at Uni and everyone was dancing (or sitting down) to "Sit Down" by this same band (which I could have included too!). I just like the lyrics on this one, very evocative. Though if you listen to them someone actually dies, but weirdly it gives me this enormous feeling of happiness whenever I hear it. And weather's mentioned, which is always a plus in my book!

There's a storm outside,
and the gap between crack and thunder
Crack and thunder, is closing in, is closing in
The rain floods gutters, and makes a great sound on the concrete
On a flat roof, there's a boy leaning against the wall of rain
Aerial held high, calling "come on thunder, come on thunder"

She's A Maniac - Hall and Oates

Back even further with this one, to the 80s and one of those so cheesy films you can't help but love - Flashdance. I like this one in particular for the utterly shallow reason of the whole shower on the stage scene ;) Plus it's funny to see Jennifer Beals pretending so hard that it's her doing the dancing (but look at that WIG on the dancer, ROFL!). I do love a dance myself too, so this one gets my feet tapping and wanting to hit the dancefloor.
There's a cold kinetic heat
Struggling, stretching for the beat
Never stopping
With her hair against the wind

Shut Up and Kiss Me - Mary Chapin Carpenter

Oh how I wish I could be this forward! But until then I can just dream (not of Mary...no, of course not...) She has a just amazing voice :)
Didn't expect to be in this position, didn't expect to have to rise above
My reputation for cynicism, I've been a jaded lady when it comes to love but
Oh baby just to feel this feeling that everything that you do gives me
It's been too long since somebody whispered
Shut up and kiss me

Sex Bomb - Tom Jones

Token comedy one! The main reason I included it is that it always reminds me of a great year in my life (2000) when I came out and partied for most of the summer. This was one of the songs our crowd sang at Wednesday night Karaoke in Soho :)
Sexbomb Sexbomb you're a Sexbomb
You can give it to me, when I need to come along
Sexbomb sexbomb you're my sexbomb
And baby you can turn me on.

Starlight + She's a maniac + Sex Bomb = WIN

I love those songs! Couldn't listen to the other two but I'll look them up. I still dance to Sex Bomb lol.
